Speed optimizations

Written by Vivian in General

About our speed and database errors.

We know that we have to improve our speed. During the past days, we have optimized our website, enable gzip compression, decrease the number php requests, enable fastcgi,… Of course, in addition to that we could use a CDN or enable caching (but we have to do a lot of workaround because we have a lot of dynamic content).

But we need to change our hosting first, Iconpaper is too big for our shared server. Plus, we have some problems with our database connexions due to our server. I know we had these problems before but I wanted to be sure it was not the old website that was problematic before migrate to another hosting plan.

We are busy to migrate the website to the new server (media temple).

Thanks for your understanding!

EDIT : We are waiting for our domain name registrar.

Long time reader of the site, I have some boxes at Softlayer that I am using to host my clients. I’d love to help you out with this!

Thanks but we’ll try with Media Temple (the hosting is already paid) coupled with pro-cdn. The migration is not finished yet, should be done on this weekend. We’ll make what it need to improve this website. Thanks for your offer of assistance :) , we’ll post more news to inform our visitors.
