Monthly Workspaces Roundup – October ’10

Written by Lazlo in Workspaces

The past few days have been hard for Iconpaper. The website has been hacked twice in a row but now it’s back up and running thanks to Vivian’s invaluable work. And so are we with a brand new edition of our monthly workspace roundup.

I have received a few contributions but it’s not enough. If you want to contribute to the monthly roundup or submit your desktop, feel free to contact me at lazlo’at’

Have a question about a desk, a chair or gears you saw in one of the workspaces above? Leave a comment!

  1. Dominik says:

Great post! What’s the name of the gorgeous flip style clock screensaver used in shot 6/7? Any idea where to get it?

  2. Texan says:

What clock screensaver is it on 2 of the pictures?

  3. Lhowon says:

That’s the beautiful Fliqlo, which is now Snow Leopard compatible (used to be Leopard only). You can grab it at

Its unfortunately done in Flash, but I haven’t seen any alternatives to it, and it’s worked well for me for quite a while now.

  4. meewosh says:

No, it’s not Fliqlo. It doesn’t allow to create a nice 3D and backlight, visible on both shots above. It must be something different.

  5. Dominik says:

I was gonna say it doesn’t quite look like Fliqlo!
    Thanks meewosh!

  6. Texan says:

How do I install this Flip clock?

  7. meewosh says:

    @Dominik: you’re welcome :)
@Texan: just put the file into ~/Library/Screen Savers and then open System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver – it will see it under Other category.

  8. Texan says:

    Thanks – meewosh

  9. Ruben Rojas says:
